Why Do We Discount Services?

We know for many organizations, advertising costs can be a huge part of their budget. If they want to get their "brand" or organization known, they need to get a website going. A website is the least expensive long-term solution to the alternative of expensive newspaper and phone book ads. We established Web Designs by LAO with the purpose of helping new organizations and small businesses get their advertising online with minimum financial strain.

How We Apply the Discount

We apply the qualifying discount when we send the final invoice to the client.

Are We Cheap?

No, we are not the cheapest web design firm. You might find cheaper, but their services are usually limited in your choices, unless you want to pay more after they start your project. The difference is that we do not place any limits on our services and do not add on charges for each thing you need done. The quote we provide remains the same throughout the time of your contract. We do not add a "minimum time required" or "minimum charge required" when we do your project.

When you check on web design costs, look for the number of changes they will allow. One major difference in our services? We do not limit you to only two (2) changes to your site while it is being designed and constructed. That simply is not fair to you as the customer.

How Do We Determine Our Fees?

We generally keep up with what other web design firms to see what services are provided for the fees they charge. The range of pricing and services varies so much, it can be confusing to most everyone who is not familiar with the web design industry.

We try to find a happy medium to our pricing based upon what the average web design firm charges and based on services provided. There are times when we will in fact charge less than some firms while still providing more services. When we set our average prices, we do not account for those firms that charge much higher, such as $800-$1,000 for a 5-page website, simply because we do not consider that reasonable.

For any applications needed for the website, we charge our clients only what it costs us. We do not add a mark-up on the price for things such as domain name registration, web hosting plans, audio or video applications, etc. Those are charged at cost.
