Web Designs by LAO, LLC cares about privacy issues and we want to be transparent about our procedures on how we collect, use, and share personal and business information about you.

This Privacy Policy notice covers the information we collect about you when you use our services or otherwise interact in any manner with Web Designs by LAO, LLC.

When we refer to “Web Designs by LAO,” “Web Designs,” “we,” or “us” in this policy, we mean Web Designs by LAO, LLC, which collects and uses information you provide.

What Information We Collect

Information we collect and store is generally defined as your name, personal and business addresses, personal and business phone numbers, personal and business email addresses, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, and photo images.

When you make a payment to us, we collect and store only specific payment information: payment amount, date of the PayPal payment or check, check number, and PayPal transaction number.

We collect the content you provide through our interaction with you. This content includes any information about you and/or your organization that you may choose to send to us. Content may include files, links, images, and third-party hosting information you provide to us.

What Information We Do Not Collect

When you make a payment to us, we accept payment by check or payment through PayPal only. We do not collect or store any specific banking information, such as bank name, bank account, account number, account routing number, address or phone number that is recorded on bank checks we receive.

We do not accept credit card information over the phone or by email. If we do get that information, it is not collected and is automatically deleted.

How We Use Information We Collect

We collect information about you, “profile information”, when you contact us for services. For example, you provide your contact information and billing information when you contract for our services.

You also have the option of providing a photo, personal and company bio, and other details to be specifically used on your website when we do your website design/development work.

We keep track of your information by establishing an email account through which we use to contact you regarding website issues, technical information, and other news we deem may be beneficial to you.

We establish an internal bookkeeping application for billing purposes using the information you provide. We utilize this information to process payments from you and to provide payment receipts and history to you.

We use the information you provide to register website hosting accounts, domain name accounts and email accounts through the hosting company we are affiliated with at the time of registration, as indicated below.

We use third-party web hosting service providers. The hosting company we use and are affiliated with is West Host, located at 517 West 100 North, Providence, UT 84332. West Host was acquired by UK2 Group in 2008. The UK2 Group Registered Office is located at 5th Floor, Voyager House, Chicago Avenue, Manchester Airport M90 3DQ, United Kingdom.

We use all available technical measures to secure your data. While we implement safeguards designed to protect your information, no security system is impenetrable and due to the inherent nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that data, during transmission through the Internet or while stored on our online systems or otherwise in our care, is absolutely safe from intrusion by others.

We maintain a separate internal, non-Internet reliant desktop application using the information you provide, including some of your personal information as well as third-party account information such as hosting and domain name expiration dates. This is used to manage the active accounts we service.

How We Share Information We Collect

We share information with third parties that help us operate and provide our services by providing information you give us.

Service Providers: We work with third-party service providers to provide website and application development, hosting, maintenance, backup, storage, payment processing, analysis and other services for us, which may require them to access or use information about you. If a service provider needs to access information about you to perform services on our behalf, they do so under instruction from us. We register all hosting and domain name accounts in your name or your company name using the information you provide, specifically your name, address, phone number and company name.

Web Designs by LAO, LLC Partners: We work with third parties who provide consulting, sales, support and technical services in conjunction with our services. We may share your information with these third parties in connection with their services, such as technical support and training requirements.

Third-Party applications: You may choose to add new functionality or change the behavior of your website(s) by enabling third party apps such as WordPress plug-ins. Third-party app policies and procedures are not controlled by us, and this privacy policy does not cover how third-party apps use any of your information. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third parties before using their applications or services to learn more about their privacy and information handling policies. If you object to information being shared with these third parties, please disable the app.

Links to Third-Party Sites: Our communications and websites may include links that direct you to other websites or services whose privacy practices may differ from ours. Your use of those third-party sites is governed by their privacy policies, not this policy.

Third-Party Widgets: Some of our Services contain widgets and social media features, such as the Twitter “tweet” button. These widgets and features collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our services, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Widgets and social media features are hosted by a third party. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

With your consent: We share information about you with third parties when you give us consent to do so. For example, we often display personal testimonials of satisfied customers on our public websites. We may also publish images of our completed work on social media sites such as Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook. With your consent, we may post your name alongside the testimonial.

Sale of Information: We do not sell any client/customer information to any third-party.

Compliance with Enforcement Requests and Applicable Laws: In certain rare circumstances, we may share information about you with a third party if we believe that sharing is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable State or Federal law, regulation, or legal process such as a Court Order.

How We Store and Secure Information

Personal information is stored in a secure format for as long as your account with us specifically is active. Once the account is inactive, the information is stored in an offline secured containers for the period of time required for governmental business records retention.

Should it be discovered at any time that your information has been breached, we will notify you as soon as possible after the breach has been confirmed by the quickest means available to us.

How to Control Your Information

This policy also explains your choices about how we use information about you. You have a specific choice of either “opting in” or “opting out” when information is requested and we are required to honor that choice.

You have the right to:

  2. To object to our use of your information (including for marketing purposes), thereby refusing to “opt-in”. This may result in our being unable to provide any services to you.

Our products are intended for both personal use and use by organizations. Where our services are made available to you through or by an organization, that organization is the administrator of our services and is responsible for the end-users and/or Service sites over which it has control. For example, a website is hosted by a hosting company. That hosting company maintains your account or is the “administrator” of your account. If this is the case, please direct your data privacy questions to your administrator, as your use of our services is subject to that organization’s policies.

We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of an administrator’s organization which may be different than this policy.

This privacy policy should not be considered as all inclusive.

Our policy for Minors

A contract is a legally enforceable agreement between two or more parties. It outlines a set of terms and is enforceable in court. However, in order to enforce a contract, you must enter it with a party who is legally allowed to sign. Minors lack the legal capacity to enter into a contract until they reach the “age of majority.” The age of majority is the age a person is considered an adult.

In general, the legal age to enter a contract is 18 but may vary by State or by country. Our services and contract are not designed for individuals under the age of majority. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information and may also void the contract and services. If you have evidence that a child may have provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may change this policy from time to time. We will post any privacy policy changes on this page and, as needed, we will provide more prominent notice by adding a notice on our website homepages, or by sending you an email notification. We will also keep prior versions of this Privacy Policy in an archive for your review.
